Barbara Ann Sheehan (Missailidis) of Windham, CT, passed away on July 3, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 13, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Missailidis and Loretta (Bernstein) Missailidis. She was married to Richard Sheehan for 39 years until his death in 2012. She lived with her husband and two children in Yonkers NY until moving to Connecticut in 1992.
Barbara worked as a hairdresser before her children were born. She was heavily involved in her children's education becoming Vice President of the PTA and recipient of the National PTA Life Achievement Award. After the passing of her husband, she resided at Douglas Manor where she enjoyed calling bingo and serving as President of the Resident Council.
Barbara was predeceased by her brother: Bill Missailidis. She is survived by her daughter Jessica Cyr and partner Michelle, and her son Richard Sheehan and partner Tyler. The family would like to thank the staff at Douglas Manor for their care and dedication to Barbara.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Forgotten Felines, Inc. 153 Horse Hill Road, Westbrook, CT 06498.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
