David Allan Carlson Sr. of Windsor Locks, CT passed on peacefully at home Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the age of 79 surrounded by his loving family.
David was born in Stamford, CT December 5th, 1940 to Walter Carlson, Sr and Alma (Norrie) who had passed before him. He was also predeceased by his brother and sister Walter Carlson, Jr and Alma Brennan.
David honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960-1964 where he received 2 Good Conduct medals. After his discharge, he went on to become a groundskeeper at Trinity College in Hartford CT. He then moved on to become an independent cross-country truck driver which led to his 46-year career. During that time, he earned a safety award for driving 4-million-miles accident free from Cardinal Logistics from where he retired in 2013. Throughout his life, David volunteered with the local fire department, Lions Club and Civil Defense. David was an avid Seattle Seahawks football fan which he was able to witness them win Super Bowl 48 in 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Lysbeth-Ann Carlson. His six children; Dawn Michele' Bernard and her husband Denis; David Allan Carlson Jr. and his wife Carissa, all of Windsor Locks, CT. Stephanie Rappaport of Westley Chapel, FL; Michelle-Ann Carlson of Windsor Locks, CT; Laurie-Jean Bialoskorski and her husband Daniel of East Hartford, CT; Kenneth Palmer Carlson and his wife Krystyna of South Windsor, CT. His 14 grandchildren; Justin, Nicole, Davianna, Ashley, DJ, Joshua, Steven, Tristan, Samantha, Holley-Ann, Jordon, Caleb, Kaylee-Ann, and Camden. And his 9 great grandchildren; Devyn, Damien, Jeremiah, Andre, Gordon, Odin, Anastasia, Lorenzo, and Le'Angelo.
The Family would like to thank Hartford HealthCare Hospice Team especially his nurses Chris and Kathleen and the Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to either Hartford Health Care Hospice Program or the Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance.
A Memorial service will be held at Carmon Funeral Home 807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor CT, Tuesday September 8th at 10:00am - 12:00pm
