Judith Rose Catalano 69, of Newtown CT, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Thursday May 14th 2020. Judy was born on March 26, 1951 in Danbury, CT. She is the middle of five children born to Eugene and Marie Cesca (Melillo) of Danbury, CT. Judy attended and graduated from Danbury High School class of 1969. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport. Judy worked as a nurse in various medical facilities in Danbury for 20 years. Judy was dedicated to the field of nursing and always had a strong interest in the medical sciences. Judy's hobbies included reading, movies, and baking. She persevered through many difficult health challenges and was known to those close to her for having a fighting spirit. Judy was an active resident for 10 years at Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She enjoyed talking with the staff and participating in activities facilitated by the Center. Judy is survived by her son Gary, her daughter Dawn Zeruk and her husband Geoff (Glastonbury, CT) and her two granddaughters who she loved spending time with. She also has four brothers Gary Cesca and his wife Sarah (Manchester, CT), Kenneth Cesca and his wife Sue (Sommerville, SC), Gene Cesca and his wife Carol (Naugatuck, CT), and Paul Cesca and his wife Mary Ellen (Danbury, CT) She also leaves several nieces and nephews and cousins. In honor of Judith, memorial contributions may be made to the National Adrenal Disease Foundation or the charity of your choice. Services and a mass for Judy will be private. Judy was loved and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and staff at NRHC who were close to her.
